Gonzaga students and grads all know about Ultimate Bagel – located adjacent to the Gonzaga campus, Ultimate Bagel is a staple for late-rising Gonzaga students still craving breakfast at noon – or later (but not too late!)
Ultimate Bagel is a great place for anyone to eat and, if you can find parking, is a must visit if you love bagels, anything huckleberry – and don’t mind seeing a ton of Gonzaga pride on the walls!
If you love breakfast and bagels as much as I do, here’s what you should know before you head over to Ultimate Bagel!
Location and Hours of Ultimate Bagel in Spokane
The Ultimate Bagel is located at 1217 N Hamilton St #B, Spokane (basically across the street from Jack and Dan’s and behind Wolffy’s) and is open:
Monday through Friday – 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Saturday – 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Sunday – 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Parking is not too bad, as Ultimate Bagel does have a lot for cars to park for free. You may also be able to find street parking.
The best times to visit Ultimate Bagel are in the morning, although which mornings are hard to tell. Since Ultimate Bagel is located so close to the Gonzaga campus and accepts Bulldog Bucks, students can be there at any time of the day. That said, the earlier you go, the better because you’ll get the best selection of bagels then.
What Can You Get At the Ultimate Bagel?
Thick, chewy bagels (New York-style) are Ultimate Bagel’s specialty, and you can get cream cheese as well as breakfast sandwiches made from Ultimate Bagel bagels.
If you’re on the fence about what to get, I highly recommend you get a bagel with huckleberry cream cheese! Personally, a plain bagel with huckleberry cream cheese is my go-to. The huckleberry is tart yet sweet at the same time, and I get a plain bagel so the bagel flavor and cream cheese flavor aren’t competing.
That said, Ultimate Bagel also has some delicious sandwiches, like the Zegg, an egg, sausage and avocado bagel, veggie bagelwiches (plus other kind of bagelwiches!), and melts, like pizza melts, and bagel dogs.
Obviously, with a place called Ultimate Bagel, you’re primarily coming for bagels. This isn’t a place to get French toast and pancakes. However, if you love bagels, this is the place to visit! Especially if you love all things huckleberry- my mom and I talked about Ultimate Bagel’s huckleberry cream cheese for years after I left Spokane, and it was one of the first places we visited when she came to visit us.
How Much Do the Bagels Cost At Ultimate Bagel?
It depends on what type of bagel you’re getting (bagelwich? melt?) and the toppings, but in general the bagels are around $4 or less. The bagel sandwiches/melts/dogs range from $4 to $9.
Lucky for Gonzaga students, they can use their Bulldog Bucks to get Ultimate Bagel bagels! Just remember to let the staff know if you want to tip before they process your Bulldog Bucks.
Take Your Parents to the Ultimate Bagel
Especially if you’re a Gonzaga student, you should take your parents to Ultimate Bagel. It’s a classic part of the Gonzaga experience, much like visiting Jack and Dan’s. If you’re not a Gonzaga student but you (and your parents) like bagels, take them too!
If you’re looking for something fun to do around the University district and you’re in the mood for breakfast, visit the Ultimate Bagel! You can get coffee at the Next Door Deli & Coffee Lounge around the corner and then stroll the university area for a leisurely weekend morning outside.
