2. Kennewick

Only 2 hours from Spokane, Kennewick is a delightful and less visited romantic getaway location in Washington state. It also makes an excellent weekend trip in Washington, given how close it is to Spokane!

Love looking at the stars, and want to share your passion for space with your loved one? While it’s not your typical space observatory, space aficionados will enjoy a visit to the LIGO Hanford Observatory

It’s a perfect cap to a romantic outing.

Another delightful option, offering your own private hot tub, is the Salish Lodge and Spa in Snoqualmie. Enjoy your romantic couples getaway in Washington with the Premier room (separate oversized soaking tub) or the Spa Level River View, which offers you access to Club 268.

4. Seattle

All right, so Seattle is just slightly over four hours away from Spokane, but trust us: this romantic getaway location in Western Washington is a must! You could spend a month in the Seattle area taking in the romantic sites and restaurants. Considering a Washington honeymoon? If you love a bustling city environment with plenty of things to do, you will love Seattle!

However, since you only have a weekend, how about reenacting a scene from “Sleepless in Seattle” and have dinner at The Athenian Seafood Restaurant and Bar? You can even take your picture at the counter where Tom Hanks sat in the Pike Place Market eatery.

Just outside the market in Post Alley is The Pink Door. With a view of Elliott Bay, the restaurant is home to classic Italian dishes, such as rigatoni with Italian sausage and meatballs.

Of course, most people will tell you to visit the Space Needle for a beautiful view of the area. While it’s amazing and makes for a romantic evening, you may also want to check out the observation level at the Columbia Center, which offers a great view of the Space Needle and Mt. Rainier.

Along the Waterfront, book a ride on the Great Wheel. It’s a relaxing ride and offers a different view of the area.

Take a short drive to Fremont and see the Troll under the bridge. Then, head to Theo Chocolate, where you can enjoy a tour and sample the goods. You’ll leave with a box or two of delicious chocolate treats for your love.

Head to Woodinville to visit the state’s oldest winery. Surrounded by more than 100 acres of woods, Chateau Ste Michelle offers a magnificent setting to sample some of the finest wines in the Pacific Northwest. You can order a flight and sample five of the winery’s best wines, or sign up for a tour and tasting class for a nominal fee. Either way, you’ll love your visit to the Chateau.

While the Fairmont Olympic may be one of the finest hotels in Seattle, another to consider for a romantic weekend is the Edgewater Hotel along the Waterfront. The only hotel in Seattle built on the water, the Edgewater offers a great view of Elliott Bay and the city’s skyline.
