Fall is officially here, and one thing on almost everyone’s list is picking that perfect pumpkin. There’s almost nothing more enjoyable than going to a local farm’s pumpkin patch and picking out the best pumpkin(s) for your fall holiday decorations!

Whether your perfect pumpkin is big or small, Washington state’s pumpkin patches deliver something for everyone! This fall, head out to pumpkin patches around Washington state – you’re sure to find a pumpkin patch closest to you with our list!

Plus, pumpkin patches grown over the years, from the days of hay rides to the field to find the perfect pumpkin (it’s still fun) to miniature theme parks, with corn mazes, petting zoos, games, shows, and lots of food.

So, where should you go to have fun while you hunt for the Great Pumpkin? Here are some of the best pumpkin patches around Washington.

Pumpkin Patches in Western Washington

Schilter Family Farm – Olympia

Four generations of the Schilter family have called the farm home. From a dairy farm to today’s pumpkin patch, the Schilter Family Farm has grown into a major agritourism attraction in the Nisqually Valley.

With two pumpkin patches plump for the picking, a visit to Schilter Family Farm can be an all-day adventure. Before heading out to the pumpkin patch to find your choice for this year’s Jack-o-lantern, explore the family farm. Along with a huge corn maze, your admission includes 20+ farm activities, including the giant corn maze.

Open every day except Tuesdays through Oct. 30, Schilter Family Farm also offers a dining menu, including apple donuts and cider.

Thomasson Family Farm – Enumclaw

A hayride to the pumpkin patch may be the mission, but a trip to Thomasson Family Farm in Enumclaw involves so much more than just this year’s gourd. Your farm admission includes visiting farm animals, exploring the corn maze, tractor train rides, basketball, foosball, corn hole, giant Jenga and so much more!

The Thomasson Family Farm’s pumpkin patch and field is also dog-friendly, although that’s the only dog-friendly area at the farm.

Fairbank Animal and Pumpkin Farm – Edmonds

A working farm, Fairbank Animal Farm opens on the weekends in October, giving people an opportunity to head to the field and select the perfect pumpkin. With plenty of farm animals – calves, pigs, and goats – visitors can enjoy a true farm experience. Children are given a cup of feed to toss for chickens or ducks to gobble up.

In addition to the pumpkin patch and feeding the farm animals, kids can also enjoy the toy duck races, play in the Tiny Tot Tunnel, explore the vegetable garden and much more. Dogs are not permitted on the property.

Swans Trail Farms – Snohomish

Hunting for pumpkins and exploring a unique corn maze await visitors at Swans Trail Farms near Snohomish. Climb aboard a wagon and head to the patch, where you can select this year’s pumpkin to decorate.

While at Swans Trail Farms, explore Washington state history and attractions as you maneuver through the corn maze. This year, Swans Trail Farms opens its Fall Festival daily from September 24 to October 31. There is no admission required for the pumpkin patch, but if you want to enjoy more fall festival fun, you will want to purchase your admission in advance.

Getting hungry? Pick up espresso, pastries, caramel apples, cider donuts and much more at the Country Store, Apple Shack, and Donut Shop.

No dogs are allowed on the farm.

Bob’s Corn and Pumpkin Farm – Snohomish

Known for its delicious sweet corn, Bob’s Corn and Pumpkin Farm puts the same passion into growing pumpkins and gourds for the fall season. A visit to Bob’s is a trip to one of the best pumpkin patches in the Northwest.

Bob’s Fall Festival begins September 16, and the Snohomish classic is home to a fun wagon ride to the pumpkin patch, where you can roam until you find your pumpkin of the season. You can also enjoy a walk through the 12-acre corn maze.

Bob’s encourages visitors to purchase tickets online to avoid delay at the entrance, and to save a little money (which can be used for treats at the pumpkin patch!) On the weekend, you can enjoy all the activities and food options offered!

Serres Farm – Redmond

Located outside Redmond, Serres Farm is a true small family farm, but don’t let looks deceive you. There are plenty of pumpkins of all kinds of varieties, waiting to be picked from the field and taken home to become this year’s Jack-o-lanterns, pumpkin pie, and maybe even a few pumpkin bars.

Have fun striking through the corn maze, or hop on the animal train (all ages are welcome) for a fun ride around the farm. Check out the games and other fun attractions through Halloween.

The Pumpkin Patch – Centralia

Check out the hay bale animals and other seasonal decorations as you head to The Pumpkin Patch in Centralia. Open through Halloween, The Pumpkin Patch features U-Pick ’em gourds and plenty of festive exhibits. Ride the animal train, explore the corn maze, and visit the farm animals during your visit.

Picha Farm – Puyallup

Puyallup may be home to the Washington State Fair, but it’s also home to Picha Farm, site of great pumpkin harvests and fall celebrations. Navigate your way through the corn maze before jumping on a hay ride to the pumpkin patch. If you can answer eight trivia questions throughout the maze, you’ll receive a free mini pumpkin for your hard work!

Or try your hand at the slingshot; you may win $5 off your gourd purchase. Enjoy a bluegrass concert each Saturday (weather permitting). Since dogs are family, they are welcome, but must be leashed. Dogs are not allowed in the corn maze or on the hayride.

The Huntting’s Pumpkin Patch and Haunted Forest- Cinebar

Imagine navigating your way through a Halloween forest to find this year’s pumpkin. Ok, maybe it’s not quite like that, but at The Huntting’s Pumpkin Patch and Haunted Forest in Cinebar you can enjoy a hayride to the pumpkin patch to find your future Jack-o-lantern and then stay until dark and venture through the Halloween (not haunted) forest on weekends.

From dark to 11 PM, you can also enjoy a flashlight corn maze and even pick pumpkins by flashlight!

The Patch at Jensen Farms – Ellensburg

Grab a wheelbarrow and head to the pumpkin patch to pick your own pumpkin for the season at The Patch at Jensen Farms. For over a decade, the family farm has been greeting and welcoming visitors to the pumpkin patch, helping search for the best gourd of the year.

This fall season, Jensen Farms opens September 23 to October 29, Thursday through Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. With 29 varieties of pumpkin, you’re sure to find the perfect one for you! You can also enjoy a fun corn maze, plenty of activities for kids, food and more.

No pets allowed on the farm.

Pumpkin Patches in Eastern Washington

Visiting pumpkin patches in Eastern Washington is one of my favorite fall activities. Whether you’re a local to the area or visiting for Gonzaga’s Fall Family Weekend, make sure to add a pumpkin patch stop to your list of fun things to do around Spokane!

Colville Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch – Colville

Colville Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch seeks to provide an old-fashioned pumpkin picking experience. Head to the field to search for giant pumpkins, or perhaps you prefer a smaller one. Before you do, however, navigate your way through the 12-acre corn maze.

Using a fresh design annually, the corn maze offers a fun, casual path. The Colville Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch has been a local favorite since 2009. You can buy tickets at the gate with a credit card or cash. Pets are not allowed in the maze or pumpkin patch. 

Opening day for this year’s fall festival is September 23, and they’re open every day through October 31.

Knapp’s U-Pick Farm on Green Bluff

With more than 40 varieties of pumpkins and winter squash, you’re sure to find the prefect gourd for ghoulish plans. With many pumpkins perfect for designing Jack-o-lanterns, a visit to Knapp’s U-Pick Farm on Green Bluff in Colbert is always productive. While there, you can enjoy their Fall Festival, which includes a pumpkin cannon, children’s straw bale maze, and more. 

Don’t forget to stop in at the farm store for a few goodies and gifts. With six acres of pumpkin patch land, you’ll definitely find the perfect pumpkin at this pumpkin patch north of Spokane!

Sunset Orchard – Green Bluff

If you’re looking for an easier pumpkin patch, one that’s super easy to get to, you can’t go wrong with Sunset Orchard, north of Spokane in Green Bluff.

Sunset Orchard also has far more available during their fall festival than just pumpkins! Grab some donuts, apples, squash and more. Make sure to follow Sunset Orchard online for the latest!

Beck’s Harvest House – Green Bluff

Beck’s is one of the most famous farms on Green Bluff, and for good reason – all roads lead straight to Beck’s! It means Beck’s can get pretty crowded, especially on the weekends, but it’s such a fun time for families.

Beck’s Fall Festival runs from September 23 to October 29, 2023, and you can enjoy a giant corn maze, pumpkin patch, homemade pies, drinks on the outdoor patios, and so much more. You’ll want to buy your tickets and parking ahead of time, and try to go in one big group car if you can, because parking gets difficult as the day goes on.

Walter’s Fruit Ranch – Green Bluff

More off the beaten path than Beck’s, Walter’s Fruit Ranch still gets super busy during its fall festival! Walter’s is a ton of fun though, with its fantastic Press Plate Bar (signature drinks, beers, or wines), pumpkin patch, orchard cafe, barnyard play area for the kids, caramel apple booth, and so much more.

We went to Walter’s last year for their fall festival and had an absolute blast. Yes, you may have to park pretty far out, so bring your walking shoes, patience, and prepare to have a good time! The weather is perfect during fall, so it’s a great time to hang out with friends, celebrate fall, and get some apples or apple cider for the road.

Siemers Farm – Green Bluff

Siemers Farm is another great place to enjoy pumpkin patches in Washington state! Siemers Fall Festival takes place this September 23 to October 29.

In addition to their tractor-driven tour into the pumpkin patch (where you get out and find the perfect pumpkin for you!), Siemers offers lots of food options, drinks, play space for the kids, holiday market vendors, and more.

You can buy your wristband ahead of time online here. When we went to Siemers fall festival last year, we had a blast! It was just different enough from the other fall festivals to make the drive worth it, and it was fun to do some holiday shopping at the same time.

Middleton Farms – Pasco

While pumpkins may be the main draw, imagine being encouraged to “get lost” in a corn maze. But, that’s exactly what Middleton Farms wants you to do! This year’s corn maze theme is Mario – you won’t want to miss it!

In addition to the corn maze, you can also enjoy a hayride around the fields to grab your favorite pumpkin, enjoy delicious food, and take home autumn decor. Middleton Farms Fall Festival is one of the biggest fall events in the Tri-Cities, so make sure to get your tickets ahead of time!
