What is there to do in Spokane on the 4th of July?

Spokane’s fireworks show has unfortunately been canceled, but it will be rescheduled!

Spokane Fireworks [Canceled due to fire concerns; will be rescheduled]

There’s a lot to do in Spokane on the 4th of July, with one of the biggest being fireworks! There will be four free drive-in fireworks displays across the Spokane region this Fourth of July:

  • Dwight Merkel Sports Complex (North)
  • Ferris High School (South)
  • Avista Stadium (Central)
  • Plante’s Ferry Sports Stadium (Valley)

Parking lots open at 8:30 PM and fireworks begin at 10 PM. Tune into 93.7 FM The Mountain beginning at 8:30 PM for continuous patriotic music, too. You can remain in your vehicle or spread out on the grass, and portable restrooms will be available guests.

A Note on Fireworks Displays Around the Spokane Area

Due to an increased risk of fire, authorities and entities have banned fireworks in some places, including Medical Lake. We don’t recommend lighting your own fireworks this year, due to the record breaking heat we’re having and increased fire risk. But it doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of other events – keep reading!

A Dazzling Celebration at Northern Quest

Head to Northern Quest Casino for 4th of July fun for the whole family. In addition to a pyrotechnic display, Northern Quest’s outdoor venue will also feature music, food vendors and carnival activities for kids. 

The celebration kicks off at 4 PM and the fireworks display is scheduled to begin at 10 PM.

Spokane Indians Baseball

On the 4th of July, head over to Avista Stadium to see the Spokane Indians play! Few things are more patriotic on the 4th of July than watching a good baseball game, grabbing some food, and enjoying the ambiance. Make sure to get your tickets here!

Red, White and BBQ at Arbor Crest

On July 4th, head up to Arbor Crest for BBQ, wine, and live music! On July 4th, you’ll hear One Street Over and Power Trio. Tickets start at $15 and you can also purchase reserved table seating!

4th of July Celebration at Olmsted Park [Canceled Due to Heat]

Head to Kendall Yards on July 4th from 5 to 9 PM for live music, food trucks, treats, fun and more! Pre-pandemic, we visited the Kendall Yards 4th of July celebration and it was a ton of fun! Even without fireworks, it’s a great time in a beautiful location.

4th of July Celebration at Green Bluff

Head up to Big Barn Brewing Co. for a 4th of July Celebration featuring music, drinks and more. Learn more about this event here.

Beck’s Harvest House will also be open for the 4th of July (grab one of their delicious pies!) but will close at 4 PM on July 4th so they can celebrate with their own families. 

Fireworks & 4th of July Events in Coeur d’Alene 

If your 4th of July isn’t complete without fireworks, Coeur d’Alene has you covered! Head over to the Coeur d’Alene resort for their Independence Day festivities, including a family picnic, fireworks show, live entertainment and much more!

The fireworks show begins at 9:45 PM and will last about 20 minutes. Read more about the event here!

4th of July Festival in Coeur d’Alene 

The CdA Regional Chamber of Commerce is putting on a two day 4th of July Festival on Saturday, July 3 and Sunday, July 4. 

On Saturday, you can expect to see:

  • 12:00pm-7:00pm: Enjoy vendors, carnival rides and live performances by your favorite Disney and Star Wars characters under the bandshell.

On Sunday, the parade begins at 11 AM and is followed by a Festival in City Park from noon to 7 PM. It will feature live music, food vendors and carnival rides! Fireworks begin at dusk over the lake.

Looff Carrousel, Skate Ribbon, Ice Age Floods Splash Pad and More

Head downtown for more fun, including skating, splash pads, pedal kart rentals and more! The city has extended hours in some cases, and be sure to double check times and dates here.

While this 4th of July may be a little quieter due to extreme heat and fire danger, there’s plenty going on around Spokane! Happy July 4th!
